“Thank you for making us proud to choose you for this project”—Morgan, Sustainability Specialist, WISErg

“As the Visual Development Lead for the Funko HQ retail store in Everett Washington, it was my job to over-see the construction and theming of the nine different “lands” that make up the Funko HQ retail experience. In addition to the structural theming, this included the direction of theatrical lighting and a soundscape that helped to further enhance the shopper’s immersion into the world of Funko.
Kyle Porter came highly recommended to me by our talented lead carpenter, Aaron Haba, who had previously worked with Kyle’s company PorterWorks in his capacity as a nationally renowned and respected fine artist.
Kyle’s deep commitment and understanding of what we hoped to achieve with the store was apparent at the outset. He listened closely, took notes, educated us when necessary, and worked to help shape and give practical foam to our ideas.
His technical knowledge concerning which audio systems, both on the hardware and software end, would best serve the budget and unique parameters of our project were always helpful and made with an eye toward customizing the system that best fit our needs.
My appreciation for Kyle’s professionalism and reliability during what was a very complex and fast-paced build cannot be over-stated. I feel it was paramount in our achieving the great success we have enjoyed since opening the new store.
The soundscapes designed by PorterWorks are chalk full of special nuances, textures, and many, many other subtle wonders. They have been singled out in several media accounts for much they add an extra level of fun and richness to the in store experience.”—Randall, Visual Development Lead, Funko LLC
“I have to say that I’m very excited about your work, Kyle.”—Martha Rose, Martha Rose Construction
“In September of 2013, Kyle Porter came to one of our job sites, and designed, directed, and filmed our video “The Twelve Steps to Net-Zero-Energy”. This video has been watched hundreds of thousands of times, and has become the standard for the industry for how a designer or builder can attain the zero-energy goal with their new construction project. I have received countless compliments over the ensuing years for the quality of the video, and the clear and concise message that is delivered. I owe this to the vision Kyle brought to the project, and his keen ability to see and understand what needed to be portrayed. We shot all the film over a period of less than one hour, as we were preparing the home for a Home Tour. Kyle then took the film home, and developed the video from the various clips he had shot on site. This video can be viewed at www.zero-energyplans.com. It holds a prominent location on the home page of our very active website. If you are considering hiring Kyle for any similar project of any size, I highly recommend him, and am certain that you will not be disappointed.”—Ted L. Clifton, CEO, Zero-Energy Plans LLC
