    Dave Porter has been involved in the real estate and mortgage lending industry for more than 30 years. He has been a marketing and finance expert, trainer and business coach for more than 20 years. He is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer and writer. He has presented and taught to thousands for scores of organizations including the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Most recently he was Senior Vice President for builder business covering 13 states for Countrywide Bank. He holds four designations from the NAHB: MIRM; CGP; CGA; and CAPS. He specializes in building, marketing and financing best practices and sustainability. Dave recently earned his Six Sigma Green Belt.

    Anna Porter has more than 15 years experience in program development and project management. She has done consulting and training for non-profit agencies in the areas of marketing, human resource development and recruitment. In recent years she has brought her expertise to the area of green building and marketing. With her husband, Dave Porter, she developed a nationally-recognized deep-green demonstration home. She has developed curriculum and presented classes, seminars, and presentations on green building, marketing, and living.     Shaun Hassel works with Advanced Energy’s Applied Building Science team as a project manager, trainer and researcher. His primary responsibility includes managing the training and outreach efforts of the Northwest ENERGY STAR® new homes program, where he works to ensure that builders, trades and building performance professionals have access to the resources needed to build and sell Northwest ENERGY STAR homes. In addition he oversees the Houston Energy Efficiency Study, a research effort analyzing the actual energy use of more than 50,000 high performance homes.

    Since joining Advanced Energy in 2005, Hassel has also played a key role in the Healthy Lives Study and the North Carolina ENERGY STAR New Homes Program. Previously, he served as an AmeriCorps member and construction assistant with Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County, N.C., building numerous high-performance homes while managing construction projects and volunteers.

    Cate O'dahl has served as a promoter, organizer, and educator, since 1990. Cate is an early-adopter of Green Building in Washington State. Working with private enterprise, non-profits, and governments, she designs, supports, and promotes Green Building initiatives and project promotions throughout the Northwest, primarily in the Seattle metropolitan area. Notable projects include the Green Pages for the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild since 2002, the Built Green® manuals for King and Snohomish Counties, and most recently, editorial manager for the Nisqually Watershed Building Guide in collaboration with the Stewardship Partners. Cate served for three years as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Sustainable Development Task Force in Snohomish County, increasing awareness and opportunities for sustainable development in this rural and growing county, especially for low impact development. Bringing green education to the real estate market has been Cate’s focus for the last few years: creating curriculum for deep green Real Estate education classes in association with GreenWorks Realty and O’Brien and Company, and providing an even more thorough examination of green building, by developing several classes for the North Seattle Community College’s Green Real Estate Certificate program. According to Cate, teaching green real estate classes to aspiring green professionals “is a fantastic feeling after all these years of talking to the choir.” When Cate is not doing something 'green,' she’s playing with her dogs. “My practically-perfect Golden Retriever, Brooklyn, and her pals keep me and my husband/business partner busy, happy, and full of joy."
