Erik started his insurance career in 1988 when he began working for Forbes Westar, a
brokerage firm that specialized in providing insurance for the risks of high net-worth
clients including Aviation, Marine and Commercial Business coverages.

In 1993 Erik joined Westar Insurance Managers in Bellevue and helped them develop a
commercial lines division. 
On June 1, 2006, Hub International Northwest purchased Westar Insurance providing
Erik added resources, increased market capacity, expanded buying power, loss control
services and an in-house claims adjusting facility.  including Certificate Guard, a program that provides property owners and managers a
Erik has developed several unique risk management tools over the course of his career
  
compliance verification mechanism for their commercial tenants and vendors. This
program ensures risk transfer to the appropriate parties and protects the limits and loss
 
accident policy (the first of it’s kind) for private astronauts traveling to the International
Space Station with Space Adventures.
